In October, we gathered at a temple to celebrate Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, and observed special prayers and an Indian dance program to learn more about Indian culture. We also held a fundraiser by selling Indian handicraft items.

Our Houston chapter recently coordinated efforts with our sister chapter in Princeton to raise funds for Operation International Children, an organization dedicated to supplying war-torn countries like Iraq and Afghanistan with school supplies.

Continuing our efforts to counter the devastation of Hurricane Ike, we set out to collect a wide variety of books to help restore the libraries in Galveston. Thanks to your kindness, we were able to collect over 2,000 books! .

Fundraiser for the Blind of India. Of the 37 million blind in the world , 15 million of them live in. The largest blind population in the world. Of this 15 million, less than one percent are literate. Our goal is to sustain their personal efforts, alleviate their deprivation, and neglect by uplifting their development so that they can lead full and rewarding lives.
